Whatever the reasons you might be selling some jewelry or stones you own, you need to first explore the options available to you. Before you start the selling process, make sure you are prepared with the proper documentation.
When your jewelry or stones were purchased you should have received a certificate of authenticity with them. If you do not have one, for whatever reason, you will need verification that your items are what you say they are.
If you lack the authenticity certificate, you can remedy this situation by obtaining an appraisal. You can generally go to a local jewelry store and have one done. Check the credentials of the jeweler that will be doing your appraisal. You can also get appraisals over the internet.
It is probably not a good idea to let the person your selling to appraise your items for obvious reasons. If what you are selling has gold or platinum this needs to be appraised too. The diamonds or gems will be appraised by the four C's.
